How should you store Wegovy or Zepbound when traveling?
Travel, delayed baggage and refrigeration worries are common for people using weekly injections. The most important detail is the exact medicine and device: single-dose pens, vials and multi-dose devices can have different time limits out of the refrigerator.
What do Zepbound single-dose pens require?
The Zepbound label instructs refrigeration at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Its single-dose pen or single-dose vial can be kept at temperatures no higher than 30°C (86°F) for a total of up to 21 days. After that, discard it according to the instructions; do not freeze it.
Do multi-dose formats have the same rule?
No. The Zepbound label lists separate storage and after-first-use rules for multi-dose vials and KwikPens, including 30-day limits in specified circumstances. The 21-day single-dose rule must not be copied to a multi-dose device.
What about Wegovy?
Wegovy has its own storage instructions that depend on injection or tablet formulation and product presentation. Read the exact package insert and pharmacist label rather than assuming that the Zepbound temperature limits also apply.
What is a practical travel checklist?
Keep medicine in its original packaging, prevent freezing or overheating, and plan for delays. Confirm airline security and destination requirements where relevant. If a product has been exposed to unknown conditions, ask a pharmacist or manufacturer before using it.
What if the refrigerator stops working?
Record approximately how warm the product became and for how long. Avoid making assumptions from appearance alone; contact a pharmacist or product manufacturer for guidance on that exact product.
The bottom line
Storage limits are medicine- and device-specific. The correct label matters more than a generic travel rule.
